I saw this book on another post - and so went and found a copy at a 2nd hand book shop…
Looking forward to lunches at work with a cup of tea and maybe a couple of rainy Sundays at home…

Great article on the importance of 'interjections': I'm a big fan of them in qualitative interviews. People sometimes worry they make verbose transcription more difficult, but it's much worse to try and do without them and not give your participants any 'verbal' feedback or encouragement

We are running an in-person training workshop on qualitative analysis and using Quirkos in Sheffield, UK this month! It's free, and on Thursday 20th, 2pm in Central Sheffield. Email support@quirkos.com for more info or to reserve a place!
Join us in 2025 for a monthly deep dive into tools and technologies for #qualitative data analysis (#QDA). Each webinar will showcase a different tool, highlighting both shared and unique features to help you compare the many options available for qualitative researchers.
Let’s advance our understanding of QDA tools together!

Sample Sizes for 10 Types of #Qualitative Data Analysis: An Integrative Review, Empirical Guidance, and Next Steps

We are running a free webinar in the new year showing our new version of our offline qualitative analysis tool: Quirkos 3. Thursday 23rd Jan, 2pm UK time
New #OA paper: What was the experience of family #physicians in #Canada during the #COVID-19 pandemic? Semi-structured #qualitative interviews with 68 family physicians show numerous additional roles to reduce the risk of #transmission of the virus with the support of their administrative staff. #Pandemic plans must include guidance for the roles taken on by primary care administrative staff..
TIL about taguette, which is the #foss I've always wanted as someone who dabbles in #qualitative research from time to time. The standard software people use always felt way to bloated, and now these tools are increasingly also "AI-enhanced"
Taguette is just really cool!
It does one thing (annotate text with qualitative codes) and does it really well.
- All open formats! Codes as .csv, your entire project is just a sqlite database.
- Linux, Windows, Mac

Do you use or teach a #qualitative software? The IASSIST qualitative data interest group is developing a workshop series on technology for #qualitativeresearch.

Our topic is Eliciting Conceptual Models to Link #Qualitative & Statistical #Analysis on Autonomous Vehicle Views
"Here, we present an elicitation method developed to retrospectively surface the conceptual model, to capitalise on previous thematic analysis. Hence, we consider [elicitation] method to enhance [survey] methods."
