After working for five hours this morning, it was time to join the pilgrims for a five kilometers run. The area we are in, is full of Caminos and the most famous one goes right past us. So I joined the walkers for about a kilometer before pealing off into the woods to explore.

Today's RAAAD was Trans-Siberian March Band and their brilliant The Tractor-Makers' Ball.

So since it was five hour of work, five km run that means it should be five beers, right, riiighhtt?

Only ~6 of the planned 9km were done today. First we explored waterfalls, which was flowing fast after two days of heavy rain. We tried to see another but the access was blocked by goats, Great Pyrenees (guard dog), other loose dogs and horses, so we bailed.

Today's double RAAAD didn't happen because of tech issues, mainly because of a Layer 8 issue. I had forgotten to charge the ear buds, doh.

Managed to listen to most of Naxatras self titled album, Naxatras. Very progressive rock and Doors like. Need another listen since it was the first time, oh and thanks whomever recommended it to me.

I did get to squeeze out a few tracks of Shakira's Dónde Están los Ladrones? Always a joy to listen to her music, even if my Spanish can't follow.

So another run booked with these two albums ;)

Manged to get out running while it was dry, though only a short run, because the little wood I had found to run in, had forestry workers doing some clear cutting. So route got cut sort and also rather slow as I didn't dare to run through the off cut branches laying across the trails and forest tracks.

I had made two mistakes with AnnenMayKantereit. First one, I somehow managed to click on play all their tracks and not just the wanted album - Alles Nix Konkretes. Though that meant that I got to listen to some tracks that I didn't know, like the sublime cover of Toxic, yes that one :) Second mistake is that AnnenMayKantereit is cleary music you need to sit down and listen to, preferable with good friends, log fire, great views and maybe a wee dram.

What a glorious day out with the Lass, the mutts and Gloria Estefan. Oh and wild horses too, Paddy was thinking about herding them and Penny wasn't too fuzzed. So we walked carefully past them at distance. They looked very much like Welsh ponies said the Lass.

Sadly I couldn't find on streaming Gloria Estefan's Let It Loose so it became came one of her many Best of albums (she's been busy). Impossible to not to sing and dance along too, with tracks like Dr Beat, Conga, Rhythm is going to get you, Get on your feet etc Lass said I looked like a loon because I can't dance, which is true, but Gloria helped me up the hills and jumping over a small water crossing ;)

Afternoon run after the rain, through a gum tree forest, brilliant trails, just the right amount of everything - scramble, flat, up/down, zig and zag, jumps and ducks when the branches were low. Great fun. First 2km with Paddy the Irish mutt and then a quick pit stop to swap tires erm mutt to the Miss MoneyPenny version. Though halfway through I figured that this is a motor cross trail, lucky we were alone in the forest today.

The run was perfectly timed, so I could listen to the all the track on the absolutely brilliant self titled album by The Turbans. I just love this kind of mix of cultures and style of northern African and middle eastern music.

What a joy Call of the Wild by Disneyland after Dark is to run to. Back in the day I wore out this LP. The album sleeve is also a joy to read the lyrics and drawings along too, think of the small cartoons in the margins of MAD Magazine.

Counting the Cattle gotta the best cow-punk track out there hands down ;)

Most of today's run was in sandy tracks, which are heavy running,

Missed out on a run yesterday so made it up with a double album run today. Started off with the joyful Stakka Bo - Supermarket, lyrics are still apt today as it was back in '93. This helped me through the forest and the sandy tracks to the beach. Where Rage Against the Machine as always kicked butt, serious air drums and screaming along to Killing in the name, Bombtrack and Bullet in the Head etc was only heard by the wind and the waves as I did nearly 3.5km all alone on the beach.

Woke up to 1" of sleety snow, 0c, with borderline icy rain and thick fog, which would make today's remote run at 1300m a bit silly, since I didn't know the route/terrain.

Jumped into HQ and drove 1000m down and found sunshine and views of the stunning snowy mountains.

Run wasn't as fast as I had hoped because first we found a cows horn that the Irish mutt wanted to play and then run with for over a 1km with. Then we found the cows had set up camp on the trail/farm track so we had to navigate around and hope we didn't set off a stampede.

The Spanish mutt did some dry stone checking for @kristiedegaris ;)

Since we had rain yesterday the trail was a bit moist, one uphill was running against gravity and the water flow. Penny the Spanish mutt loved the route, loads of rabbit poop to eat... I skipped out on one peak to take the route to 6.5km, as I'm still coming back from the "time off", I think my bumb and thighs would have moaned if I did, so only 5.75km

I gotta learn that the Irish mutt isn’t Tilley, since I blindly could rely on her to navigate. She never took us the wrong way, when we were out hiking and she would stop and ask for confirmation if she wasn't sure. With Paddy, it's that way, go!

So even on today's short run to check route, legs and if there were any caterpillars. We got lost, well off the beaten track and we had to really scamper and bushwack our way back on track.

Funny while we were out, running in the dry, the HQ was getting soaked.

First run in a while, IRL and location has not made it easy to get a run in.

It went well until we met lose dogs.

Fair enough it's a public space and dogs are welcome on the beach. But if you are walking your dog there, keep it under control.

Not everyone is like me, someone who likes dogs a lot. And even if you are like me, you do mind if a random dog is running right up to you, with your dog or without a dog.

If I'm running or cycling I don't want to be tripped over, kicking/stepping/riding over a random dog or have them jump up and hit me squarely in "Stan and the boys".

Yes, maybe your dog is brilliant with other dogs, but how do you know that my dogs or others, are good with other dogs or humans. Heck, I know people who are scared of other dogs especially ones that they don't know and might be running right at them, but are happy with a certain breed of dogs.

So please keep your dog on lead, especially if the recall is not spot on, running after your mutt shouting "Jesus Christ, Fenton!", ain't a good look.

Keep an eye on your mutt, not your phone or the person you are nattering too, because you will miss your dog pooping in a random location. Which will lead to me getting the "fecking, dog owner, who never picks up after their mutt" looks, because you are a lazy dog owner.

This is my running partners in a rare quiet moment. Penny the Podenco aka Spanish mutt and Mr Patrick the Irish mutt aka Paddylonglegs. She is all ready for long runs, he still needs to take it easy before we can go long.

Sadly in the area of Spain we are in atm we need to be careful of Pine Caterpillars as they are already coming out. So it's controlled play, training and mind work to keep these entertained for a while.

After a near miss, the wee Spanish mutt had a trip to the vet. This sadly means for the next few months there will be no more running or walkies in new and unchecked areas. Because she and I walked straight through a row of pine processionary caterpillars. Lucky I had shoes on, she didn't.

You don't want to touch them as the allergic reaction is extremely painful and for pets who get the little furry hairs on their tongue, it could be deadly, at best they need to get some of their tongue cut off. As the vet said it's like a fire in their mouth. Just a FYI so not do a search for what it looks like when a dog is suffering.

Luckily, nothing to report, as the reaction would be instant, but as the vet said better safe than sorry. They were also surprised that the caterpillars are out this early, the joy of fecking up the environment, eh.

A 3km run with two dogs, that equals 6km, right, right... right?

Started out brilliantly, nice trot, next to each other. Then we ended up in the middle of wild goats, of course on the steepest part of the trail. Dogs and goats in all directions and a big stone onto my foot, not bad just sore. Glad I had the Irish mutt as an anchor once or twice, as we scrambled out. The only way to escape was to take the aqua duct. I had seen it on the map as a path and it cleary was one.

Jolly good fun.
