Do you fellow runners also have this:
Running event is in 2 days, training went well, you're trained 💪🏼, rested 😴, fed 🍰 and suddenly, while walking 🚶🏼‍♂️ there is a weird sensation in your left knee. Like something is wrong, not very painful but alarming 😯.... And you try and walk it off, which seems to sort of succeed but still it bothers you...

Some of my favorite people - who I don’t know personally and have only said “hola, bon día” to - are the retirees I see along my run on Playa Somorrostro. They always seem to be enjoying life, & remind me to find joy even as the world burns. Today they were dancing to “Forever Young.”

Le jeudi soir c'est salle de sport après le travail 🤓 #running + #musculation , travail sur tapis (j'aime pas caaaaaa) avec des toutes petites pentes de temps en temps et une accélération à 4'30 sur 500m (oui je sais c'est une vitesse de croisière pour certain.e.s 😅) et des charges pas trop lourdes sur les cuisses (pas l'envie qui manquait ) bon vendredi tout le monde ! #sport #motivation #salledesport #runnersofmastodon #trail #prepatrail #workout #routine

Since I started training on heart rate instead of pace it seems like I am detraining!!

My understanding is that to build my aerobic engine I need to do that, (not detrain, but run slow), but it is painful to run so slow!

Fingers crossed it pays off in the long run (no pun intended)

Näin viime viikonloppuna ihmisiä ja eilen alkoi kurkkukipu. Ajattelin, etten pelkän kurkkukivun takia jätä kevyttä juoksua välistä. Kyllä sen kuitenkin juostessa tunsi, ettei kroppa ole ihan kunnossa. Kello oli ihan samaa mieltä.

Tälle päivälle olisi vielä lihaskuntotreeni, mutta sen jätän nyt välistä. Täytyy tsekkailla, mihin olotila kehittyy.

Recovery run 5km @ 6’40/km, 39m EG ✔️

Luckily DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) never happened. 😃 Nevertheless I continue to run slow and short to allow my body to recover well. ☺️

I may have recovered on a cardiovascular level – low resting pulse, enough sleep – but the mechanical load will continue to linger for a longer time.

So I don't set myself a next goal at this moment. Even the planned 10k on May 3rd will be a recovery run. The last one. 😁

No car so a run to Coxhoe for the Wednesday night easy run looping back home after a route around the edge of the hills. One path through a field with cows which I honestly prefer to avoid. Cool and grey, tomorrow looks better with a bike commute to work followed by a route back to the garage after work to collect my car. Intermittent electrical fault is still puzzling the engineer. #runnersofmastodon #running
