I'm really confused by the world of #RISCV, it looks like the instruction set keeps changing and it's hard to know which machine supports which instruction set.

To put it simply: #Ubuntu is dropping support for RVA20, presumably to move to RVA22 instead. The problem is, the only RVA22 board I can seem to find (Milk-V Jupiter) isn't supported by Ubuntu.

New PCBs from #jlcpcb . First time doing hot plate soldering, only had to fix one solder bridge! so much easier than using an iron on these 0.5mm pin pitch parts.

Of course it doesn't work 😄 I got the connector pins backwards... Luckily they make a reversed connector so these boards don't go into trash, just have to wait for new parts!

Yay, finally all the pieces have come together and I have finally been able to compile Qt 6.9 and @kde Plasma development version (what is to be released as 6.4 in June) for my @bananapi BPI-F3, a RISC-V single-board (mini) computer. Plasma does start and run, but looks like QML/QtQuick applications (which includes the desktop itself) have rendering problems 😞 Qt Widget apps render/run just fine. Now to figure out where the problem is…

Banana Pi BPI-RV2 is a $35 RISC-V gateway board for networking applications

The Banana Pi BPI-RV2 is a single-board computer designed for networking applications with a 2.5 GbE WAN port, five Gigabit LAN ports, and M.2 and Mini PCIe slots that can be used for SSDs, wireless modules, and other add-ons.

The board is powered by a 1.25 GHz Siflower SF21H8898 quad-core RISC-V processor and runs open source software – Banana Pi offers an version of the open source, […]
