Harper returns in attempt to make Poilievre look charismatic #TheBeaverton thebeaverton.com/2025/04/harpe 🥇 “Former #PrimeMinister Stephen #Harper appeared at a Pierre #Poilievre campaign rally this week, in an attempt to make the current Conservative leader appear human and likeable by comparison.

With Poilievre’s poll numbers flagging, Conservative insiders invited Harper onstage in an attempt to suck so much energy out of the room that the current candidate might actually appear warm and lively.”

Day 10 cont 💸💰🪙

Opposition Leader “We [the #LNP government] had identified #JoeHockey’s work as #ambassador was crucial in doing this – identifying people who could have an #influence in the decision in and around the administration. That’s exactly what we did. This #PrimeMinister just hasn’t got any of that connection. There’s been no work done in the run-up to what was obviously being announced”

Connections, deals and nods to the 🎃 wont help the country in crisis 🥔.

Day four: 🍻🍺 vs 🎓💰

While some issues are being discussed, one isnt HECS DEBT. We can talk about having a beer with the Prime ministerial candidates but not EDUCATION costs and spiralling debt.

While we’re at it. UNEMPLOYED? Has the living allowance been raised? At all, does it match inflation? Is it below the poverty line?

Luís #Montenegro was ousted a week ago with a failed confidence vote. Turns out he has kept receiving fees from various companies all along. Legally, but leaving major ethical questions behind.

Not all of the #PrimeMinister' s clients are known, but #Alpac is possibly one of those. That company appears as one of the business pillars of the centre-right party #PSD.

And there is something worth proper journalistic investigation.

#Euronews was bought by #Alpac in early 2022 and its hard link to #Hungary was established about an year ago. The Hungarian state contributed upwards of 40% of the purchase funds. At that time the fact was widely reported in #Portugal, #France and Hungary (to the extent possible).

Whereas most look at this acquisition as #Órban 's doing, if you look closely, Alpac is much more of an instrument of the (yet) #PrimeMinister of Portugal.

Reasons to love Australia. My comment of the week goes to Anthony Albanese the Australian PM, on the baby wombat debacle. What a funny, brutal, and flawless response…

“They are gentle, lovely creatures… I suggest to this so-called “influencer”, maybe she should try some other Australian animals, maybe she should try a crocodile.

Take a baby crocodile from its mother and see how you go there…”

Abacus poll highlights Mark Carney's organisational and fiscal competence, while showcasing Pierre Poilievre's inexperience and incompetence, as polled Canadians agreed Poilievre is better than Carney at only two things: "party hosting and shelf installation." Sorry Pierre, you can't run a country with soirees and shelving. #poilievre #carney #election2025 #canada #primeminister thestar.com/politics/political
