On Saturday, we started Chariot of the Gods, the adventure bundled with the #AlienRPG starter set.

The rules have some very good features that are well suited to Alien games, and the adventure is very well written. We only played through Act 1, but it was a lot of fun. The game had the *feel* of an Alien film.

Well, we're meeting our local contact in a little fusion joint that's part izakaya and part English pub.

Katsudon is on the table. Literally.

At least we avoided the firefight that broke out a few blocks back.

So, die nächsten Wochenenden sind gesetzt für #MutantJahrNull. Die Gruppe hat sich in das Setting eingefunden. #AlienRPG auf der Warteliste. Leider haben wir trotz tollem Setting nicht den Weg in #Coriolis gefunden. Als intermittierender Dauerbrenner fungiert #Mythosworld und ich will unbedingt nochmal #dcc versuchen. Vielleicht überlebt diesmal jemand den Trichter.

I received some great input for writing Alien RPG scenarios.

In D&D you usually center the story around a creature and how it affects its environment. It becomes a quest to somehow eliminate that threat.

Whereas in Alien RPG the questions you're asking, as a GM, are: When a group of people find themselves in a bad situation, how do they deal with it? What are their priorities? How far would they go to save others and / or themselves?

Interpersonal conflict is the driver.

Ich habe am Wochenende mal wieder #Vaesen geleitet und es war wieder sehr schön. Ich mag dieses Spiel, wegen seinem einzigartigen Setting und Flair, und ich mag generell die #YearZeroEngine. Zu Weihnachten habe ich das #AlienRPG Starter Set geschenkt bekommen, aber was ich wirklich gern mal wieder spielen würde, wäre #Coriolis. #Dragonbane schaffe ich hoffentlich auch noch mal und irgendwann muss ich mal was mit #DieVerbotenenLande machen.

Ich spiele leider viel zu selten Year Zero Spiele.

I've prepped an Alien RPG one-shot in case one of the players can't make it to the next D&D session.

The story in a nutshell: Ancient structures, impossibly old and not man-made, have been discovered near a largely abandoned colony. The remaining colonists have formed a sort of cult, assigning religious significance to those structures.

A team of explorers (the PCs) is sent out to investigate.

What type of planet does this scenario take place on?
