Two weeks ago I took off my smart watch to charge and never put it back on.
I don’t need a quantitfied life. I don’t need to always be connected.
I just don’t want any of this anymore.
@skinnylatte I only have a smart watch because it monitors my heart rate and this is very useful in managing chronic fatigue syndrome.
I only connect it to my phone when I need to update its time (that statement in itself is bonkers, I need to connect my watch to an app to set its time, what?).
I sometimes worry that people think I enjoy having a connected watch. And I miss wearing my pretty watch that only tells the time.
@krazykitty oh yeah for health stuff definitely. Hope they make a pretty one some day
@skinnylatte I would buy one that's actually geared for health stuff, not for something that's sold as health but is actually about weight loss. Mine is the only model I found in its price range that would monitor my heart rate and could be set to tell me nothing about calories spent, nor praising me for reaching some sort of cardio goal (yeah that means I've exerted myself too much now shut up with your animated party favor).
@krazykitty @skinnylatte Check out the Withings Scan Watch. I wear my Galaxy Watch at night to monitor my sleeping apnea, and I'm considering buying the Withings Watch, which is set up by doctors of a hospital in Paris (as far as I recall it). The Watch has a great design.
@HNumberger thanks, I have been thinking about this watch regularly since your message :-) @skinnylatte
