Two surfers sitting with their boards under their arms at the back edge of the ocean baths. There's a drop from the concourse to the rocks there so their legs (not visible) are dangling over the edge. There is turquoise green concrete wall to their left behind the white concrete lap lane markers. The wall becomes the bleachers as it curves at left. Sky is blue with scattered white clouds. Water of the main pool is blue grey and takes up the foreground.

Rocks in the sand. #beach #walk #BarBeach #NewcastleNSW

Several loose beach rocks in the damp sand. Some would be small enough to hold in the palm of your hand; others would need to be hefted with two hands. All different colours - white , brown, cream, grey and multicoloured. My fave is white with a corner that's brown.

Looking out to sea over the Granny Pool at the northern end of Bar Beach. A few people are lying belly down on their towels catching rays. Two people are walking along the sand. Four swimmers in the water. Clear blue green water in the pool, frilly white further out. Cloudy white sky. Feels calm.

Cooks Hill surf life saving buildings. #beach #surfclub #walk #BarBeach #NewcastleNSW

Three 2 storey buildings close together right on the beach: Cream painted concrete, natural concrete with horizontal lines, brown brick and concrete. The brick one has a big bay window - it's where the lifeguards sit watch. There has been ongoing construction work in front and to the side for over a year to repair storm damage to the access ramps and this is my first clear view of the buildings.

@feather1952 Yes - it's a tragedy. In my local area there are still essentially no bees and haven't been for a couple of years now. I'm elated on my walks to ever see them in other areas.
Here at home, I had one and then two little bees visiting my flowering parsley a few months ago so I didn't disturb them. They have disappeared and I haven't seen any more here. Pretty concerning #NewcastleNSW #Bees
