Via LA County: The much-anticipated, all-female cohort of the JCOD Firefighter Training Program at the Los Angeles County Training Center (LACTC) will kick off this month.

The first cadets have already begun moving into the training site. Between 15 to 20 women are expected to participate in Cohort 2 of the Firefighter Training Program

On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, the #LosAngelesCounty Fire Department launched the Los Angeles Development & Rapid Operationalization of Prehospital Blood (LA-DROP) pilot program in Gardena, Hawthorne, & Lawndale & unincorp communities of Del Aire & El Camino Village.  Addtl cities & unincorp communities will be added later in April.  LA-DROP pilot program enables paramedics to deliver life-saving blood transfusions directly to patients before they reach the hospital
