The only issue is the missing pressure to finish tracks. I might need to set me some arbitrary goals. </p><p>Apart from <a href="https://ruby.social/tags/IronChefOfMusic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>IronChefOfMusic</span></a>, that is. 𝙴𝚛𝚒𝚌<p>At the end of 2023, I signed up for WeeklyBeats, a challenge to upload one song per week for the entire year. I had never written a full track or released any music on any platform, so I didn't expect I'd make it through 2024.</p><p>Somehow, despite traveling, buying a house, moving, and many other events, I managed to upload a song every week. half/byte<p>Uploaded my last track for <a href="https://ruby.social/tags/WeeklyBeats2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WeeklyBeats2024</span></a> yesterday. With the exception of a certain block of time in late summer I managed to create something almost every week. I'm especially proud of myself for not having any gaps from week 41 onwards given how shaky my health was sometimes. half/byte<p>Finally managed to not do my <a href="https://ruby.social/tags/WeeklyBeats2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WeeklyBeats2024</span></a> track last minute on a sunday. Just added some final touches after spending most of yesterday's afternoon on the track. Happy with the result. I'm slowly getting there.</p>
half/byte<p>Wow, what a trip. I opened up Ableton for the first time since I got back home and there it sat, the last track I did on the weekend before my fever got out of hand and we went to the hospital. It's aptly named "Painkillers" and I'll upload it as a <a href="https://ruby.social/tags/WeeklyBeats2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WeeklyBeats2024</span></a> for this week as I have technically put some finishing touches on this. </p><p>It's not my greatest song but it feels a little like a historic document to me. From the "before", so to speak.</p>
