Ringtail Ringo<p>I am still hesitating to make a move on <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/journelly" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>journelly</span></a>. Partially because I lack some features I use in DayOne a lot - videos, audio recordings (esp. from my AW), maybe even encryption... Partially also because I see a lot of overlap in how people use it with <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/denote" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>denote</span></a>. And I think denote is a better place for loose notes because it produces separate files. Such atomicity makes a lot of things easier. So, I've bought it but I think I will wait it out so far, maybe for another year with <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/dayone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dayone</span></a>.</p>

For something working so well over long periods of time a transition has to be properly tested and thought out, I guess.<br>I don't trust Automattic and I believe I should not invest in their products, but the Apps they've acquired are generally left alone - DayOne is still OK, Pocketcasts is still the best podcasts around and the only one where AW app actually works as it should.</p>

I’ve been supporting them over the <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Apple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Apple</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Journal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Journal</span></a> mostly out of loyalty (they haven’t given me a reason to leave) but the fact they’re working to make it easily accessible across multiple ecosystems is gonna keep me. Linux support too please</p>
