MissConstrue<p>So, a million years ago, in the 1980s, an artificial intelligence project called <a href="https://mefi.social/tags/Cyc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Cyc</span></a> was launched. (Full disclosure, I have written about Cyc in a number of publications, but I am not and have not ever been part of the project. A girl can dream, tho...) The goal of Cyc is to assemble a comprehensive ontology and knowledge base that spans the basic concepts and rules about how the world works. Most of the data set is hand crafted, they didn’t just slurp up a ton of data and hope for the best. It’s a really cool project, and in my mind the only True <a href="https://mefi.social/tags/AI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AI</span></a> in development. </p><p>I tell you that story, so I can tell you this one. <a href="https://mefi.social/tags/OpenAI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenAI</span></a> new model tells lies, justifies the lie, and can escape its server if given access to other servers.
