Me trying to understand how #wayland clients work... by writing my code in #inkscape ... At first I tried making the client directly in #forth but in the end it was easier to start with C code and then move to Forth step by step. The exciting part is the fact that I may be writing the first ever Forth wayland-client. The bad part... well, there's no doc, ahah..
Thank you for coming this morning to the #codepoetry presentation at #fosdem ! It was great 😀

Thanks again @fosdem for having me this year 🙏
You can now code using poems!
The first version of #codepoetry is available on my blog at http://rilouw.eu/poem/
I'll be presenting that at #fosdem this Sunday!
Have fun trying to use it, and please send me any issue or error message you get so that I can fix them before the prez' :)
(I'm currently catching all exceptions and showing them to you directly, YOLO)
It's made with #racket, the awesome #lisp like language for making languages.
Please don't break it too hard 🤞 🙏
Hey, esoteric language programmers, I'll be at #fosdem this weekend with an awesome new technology to reveal! More to come, but we'll be writing together some #codepoetry thanks to #racket and #lisp. See you Sunday at 9:30AM in room AW1.125 https://fosdem.org/2020/schedule/event/racket_poetry/
PS: The website is getting ready for you to try (and obviously break it down) so stay tuned!
@fosdem
Merged two racket-csexp merge requests from fellow fediverse racketeers @clacke and @euhmeuh

It's nice when you have projects that you feel like are fairly obscure but it turns out people are reading and contributing to them anyway
J'adore, j'adhère !
Merci @LaQuadrature !
Matthew Butterick explains why making languages with #Racket improves productivity and result in cleaner and tighter code. I couldn't explain it better.

I am finally convinced to try out the Racket programming language after watching @cwebber 's #FOSDEM 2019 talk.

I have been looking for a Lispy replacement to #Python for a year now. #Racket is batteries-included like Python. You can also create executable binaries.
I'm not looking for efficiency here, since it's just for scripts I run on my desktop.
Though I prefer to use Emacs over DrRacket, I can see how it can bring down the barrier to entry significantly.
En deuxième partie de soirée, on passe à l'action : on ira coller des affiches dans Paris pour sensibiliser aux problèmes de la pub en ligne et les inciter à installer un bloqueur de pub !
I'll be talking about #racket at #fosdem in Bruxelles, in the Minimalistic Languages Devroom. It's my first time talking at a convention, so I'm a bit nervous. See you there! https://fosdem.org/2019/schedule/event/jsonwhendsl/
