If there's any sweeter way to work in the morning than bundled up in blankets in a hammock under the eaves while the rain falls just a meter away - close enough to smell and hear, not so close you get splashed, then I know know it.
@pluralistic Sounds almost perfect! Hopefully a hot tea or coffee nearby (accessing from the hammock may be logistically complicated, I suppose).
@ike I'm caffeine fasting - I started tapering on Jan 1 from four cups every morning, now down to zero. Trying to reset my caffeine adaptation before I go on tour on Feb 13, so when I hit the road, coffee will give me super-powers.
@ike However, I do have a bottle of homemade ginger/habanero/lemon kombucha with almost no sugar that actually makes me break out in a sweat.
@pluralistic Smart!
If I can make a recommendation:
When you are at Kepler's Books in Menlo Park, CA - there is a great little coffee stand by called St. Frank's just on the other side of the CalTrain tracks - it is worth a visit. I visited every day during the 1st year of the pandemic.
I'm sorry I will miss you there! (But maybe Seattle)
@ike Excellent recco! I'll do my best!

A little like a kid wanting to stay overnight in a backyard tent, till it gets unpleasant.
'Unhoused' imagining.
