If you could give one tip to (genuinely) help an everyday, normal, non-computer-toucher, person be safer online, what would it be?
Read your emails in plaintext only.
@9x0rg @neil I would *love* to see that (reading only plaintext mail) being actually practical.
However, people who frankly should know better tend to send using mail clients that will "rich text"-ify your plain text without asking whether that is actually wanted.
In some cases the mere hint of something that does not live in strict 7-bit ASCII will trigger that treatment, unfortunately.
