WTAF how is #gtk getting n_planes = 1079097857
(consistently the same number across executions) from eglExportDMABUFImageQueryMESA
when trying to export a GdkGLTexture
containing a #wlroots gles2 rendered scene? 0.o
Wait, that's not just some random number, that's the low 32 bits of the modifier field!!
OHHHH SHIT it's not mentioned in the extension spec at all but with current Mesa code, modifiers
is expected to be AN ARRAY of per-plane entries. The spec only says that the stuff passed to the next step eglExportDMABUFImageMESA
is expected to be arrays. #egl #mesa3d #dmabuf
Reported: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/12771
@benedikt reported some issues with #xwaylandvideobridge and #phosh and it turned out it uses _NET_WM_WINDOW_OPACITY which was proposed >
That just changed (https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xdg/xdg-specs/-/merge_requests/97) and we also already have #wlroots support now too so phosh can happily use it too.
But maybe I'm the only person that finds this kind of archeology exciting
I accidentally made Casilda the #wlroots-in-a-GTK4-widget library by @xjuan use the GLES2 renderer \o/
I'm planning to do something new with it, but for now this means that modern visual UI editing for @GTK apps is gonna GO FAST!
Just published my first #rust crate. Still very early alpha release.
It's a cli tool to position outputs/displays relative to each other on #wlroots based compositors (under #wayland obviously).
Learning my way in rust, still!

phosh 0.44.1 is out
This is a small bug fix release containing stability fixes for #phosh and #phoc that shouldn't wait 'til 0.45.0. Most of them (but not all) address issues introduced in 0.44.0.
Check out the release notes at https://phosh.mobi/releases/rel-0.44.1/.

labwc and XFCE is definitely interesting. Quite surprised with how much actually works. I guess it's nice to have the option and prepare things for Wayland, excited about the XFWM Wayland port.
My Helix theme for labwc based on Dracula:

Days are short on the northern hemisphere and news aren't good either. Maybe this can spark some light
