as one of the many people who is mystified by what #Quora has become, this episode was great

Wow, everything on the #Quora home page (at least for me) is bot.
In the wake of recent fee changes and subscriber models, #POEai users on Reddit are evidently plotting a boycott. #POE subreddit has been seething with user anger of late, recently tipping a boiling point. Of course Quora’s #ArtificialIntelligence platform needs to make $$, but rolling it out with much fanfare and spinning the changes as opportunities and user benefits when they are clearly $$ grabs, was horrific #PR and reflects not only poor planning but hubris and entitlement. They could have been honest, up-front, a decided to go the low-marketing road instead. Something like: “We’re raising fees and restructuring subscriptions at this moment because [list relatable and justifiable reasons: costs, R&D, ongoing dev, adding new stuff, empowering users, etc.)” #quora #business #BusinessCommunications #spin
Diese Plattform #Quora ist ja auch so ein kommerzielles Sammelbecken von Reichsbürgern und Rechtsextremisten.
On a daily basis, people interested in #accessibility, using #Quora, ask what is the major #usability problem in software today. It's almost always the same answers: assuming everyone has their computer's visual theme shining a blinding white background at them, assuming everyone else's address follows the same rules as their own, and assuming everyone uses and can use the same input devices. None of those are correct. It's 2024. Do better.
@tommorris A data dump of the early #Quora (pre 2014?) becomes ever more necessary.

@TinBee Anything unfavorable about the #Quora UX is good news IMO since Quora is such a restricted walled-garden that it’d be better for everyone if it fails so more open options can gain ground. Quora blocks Tor users from simply /reading/ answers & also goes as far as to block archive.org from liberating the content. Yet Tor user’s searches are polluted by unreachable Quora pages.
@TinBee Apparently some #Quora questions are asked by a bot: https://mastodon.social/@aeveltstra/109418103146414129
