Just donated to the effort to improve sound quality on the #Librem5 when using #pipewire: https://opencollective.com/dephcom/projects/pipewire-echo

I'd be even more happy about the approach of sponsoring development through the community if this donation would be accepted as being for an official non-profit organization accepted as such in Germany.

Giving for #OpenSource should be respected as a a benefit to the public and appreciated by the government by whatever means they do this for other purposes (in Germany it's possible to declare such donations for reducing taxes to pay).

Hey #MobileLinux community - if everybody gives a little there'll be a fair pay for someone doing this work.

George Kiagiadakis · Customizing WirePlumber’s configuration for embedded systemsRecently, I had the opportunity to work with a customer that required customization of WirePlumber’s configuration for use in their embedded Linux system. Oftentimes, people are confused about how to customize WirePlumber for their use case. I thought I’d take this opportunity to discuss how it was configured in this particular case and why.

It’s the year of our Lord 2025 … and thanks to @faheus’ excellent Nerdsniping skills I’m trying to get my old #FireWire #ieee1394 Audio Interfaces running reliably in Linux ;)

Verdict so far: MOTU amazingly works very well using in-kernel ALSA FireWire drivers. FFADO (in its pipewire-incarnation) still a catastrophe, as was 12 years ago. EchoAudio still randomly crashes machines as was the case 2014 :).

PipeWire 1.4.2 mit Stabilitätsverbesserungen und MIDI-Fixes!

Was ist PipWire!

is it too late to join the #pipewire party? i hope not, or else my #flx1 will be sad

all applications that use pipewire can finally utilize the camera (adding to our list of v4l, qtmultimedia and android apps)

one issue we are facing is that aperture is not very happy with the back cameras, so applications like #GNOME snapshot or authenticator will have the preview flipped. captured frames are surprisingly not flipped tho:

If you're looking to equalize system audio with Pipewire, Easy Effects is pretty amazing for what it is.

You can save and import your presents. Switch them up, etc..

It kinda reminds me of my Winamp days, but you can set it up in many different ways, there are many effects to customize and have as many channels as you want.

I feel the UI is a little clunky, but it works well on my glorified netbook.. Acer - Swift 3
