Cassana 🍻<p>I watched this little exploration of the nyckelharpa yesterday. It even has a short explanation of the rhythm of polskas, which are often asymmetric. I really like the way they managed to capture the sound of the <a href="https://the-crossroads-inn.com/tags/instrument" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>instrument</span></a>, including the sympathetic strings and key noises. Essentially it's a very low bass <a href="https://the-crossroads-inn.com/tags/ocarina" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ocarina</span></a>, and I mean LOW as in 65Hz or C2. It's also a percussion <a href="https://the-crossroads-inn.com/tags/instrument" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>instrument</span></a> similar to the udu or ghatam, or both at the same time even. The decoration is terra sigillata and some cleverness involving blowing bubbles onto the surface (please help me describe that for the alt text). I'll write some more about it later, including audio; y'know, once I've spent some time with it.</p>
