I was extremely disappointed that even after several different attempts and experiments to get it working, I just couldn’t get Blender to use my AMD GPU on my #framework16 in Ubuntu.
It was an absolutely miserable experience. That and the fact that in Ubuntu even going through configuration command line stuff I could not get the touchpad to not scroll wildly when using two-finger gestures.
Ubuntu just is not ready to be a Windows replacement yet for anyone who doesn’t have a Computer Science degree. I still hope it will be better and more successful in the near future - very much like how things worked with Blender itself. (In the mid-2000s I swore to myself I’d never ever use Blender again.)
