We didn't get the lowest fare I had seen (&lt;$500) but snagged a $690 one way Westjet ticket, Nanaimo to Barcelona; cancellable/changeable and includes seats, checked bag, and carry-on. Incredible value.</p><p>It's also the lowest CO2 hit by air from Western Canada.</p><p>Hardware: (Canadian made) Dash 8 Turboprop from Nanaimo to Calgary (93kg pp) and B787 to Barcelona (425kg pp).</p><p>There are no direct flights to Spain west of Calgary. I'm frankly shocked AC or WS don't have a B777 or B787 in the summer and winter from Vancouver to Barcelona… it would fill! Perhaps its capacity on the Barcelona side that is full up.</p><p>I love the Dash 8. A little noisy compared to a standard jet, but I really like the feel of smaller aircraft.
