A company upgrading their servers and the IT department making it so that you can access the AI company's servers, and programmers tweaking the model so the formula generates more coherent images isn't YOU making art.

It piss me off when folks forget that IT is the only reason you can access your generative AI "Art" crutch.

(Actually IT often forgotten.)

But also you don't have to be a Professor of Generative AI to know AI "Artists" are full of shit.

Oh. My point about generative AI bros saying "Artists don't understand AI" was that many don't understand AI THEMSELVES. And they don't understand (or care) about the consequences or ethics.

Actual artists get better with practice, experience, and wisdom. Their vision becomes more sound.

AI Lovers will never get better.
It's the connections within the neural network that get stronger. It's the code that's tweaked. It's GPUs and servers that gets upgraded.

Dishonest AI "Art" jerkoff-bros aside...

I would LOVE to plan a gallery exhibition that explained generative AI, and the effects of giving companies the ability to surveil you by allowing them to scrape or download your data.

Like I said, one of the reason I don't like the AI industry is user privacy and consent, and the billions companies and shareholders are making off of unethical non consensual data.

I have the tools... 🤔 Python FTW 😆

I was a kid artist that wanted to draw in my sketchbook in the artbooks for video games and comics. Didn't realize my tech tinkering was a career I could actually DO.

I came out of Uni researching how to create (functional) art robots, using microcontrollers, and coding games, and knowing comp sci theory.

The Disrespect to say that artists don't understand AI but somehow you do, over rated gen AI cheerleader?

(I still want to make art robots but who has the time.😔 )
