Wow! I think what I thought was previously impossible seems to have the best chance of success in a long time - getting my family and friends from Whatsapp to Signal! Up until now things are looking great!

The free PR for Signal by the White House , compared with an upsurge in antipathy toward any company associating themselves with the crazies there (and I feel generally rising anti-Americanism, I am sorry to say my US friends, hold on over there ) has opened a real window of opportunity here.

Hello Fediverse, after a long and dreadful march of persuasion through my contacts, I'm finally about to uninstall #Whatsapp. However, there's a group of people that organizes there, so I want to ask you:

Is there some #Fdroid app or other method to bridge Whatsapp messages to #Telegram or #Signal? I know interoperability is a big ask, but jusg being able to read when they meet would be enough.

Why haven't I seen anyone talk about how the white house is certainly also using #signal for other things where they just happened to not invite some random journalist into the conversation? Sure, this thing should not happen on signal, in part because the records need to be retained, but what about all the other stupid plans they're making?
