Post election the least surprising thing in the world will be that Canada's far right, foreign-owned MAGA newspapers all endorsed the far right MAGA candidate in our federal election against the wide majority position of Canadians.
End #PostMedia

@rhtunstall @TheGentYYC Given that our #CdnMedia is 2/3 owned by the American hedge fund #Postmedia, founded by Anthony Melchiorre with a large foothold in newspapers and tabloids & known for his close ties to the Republican Party, its no wonder the issue is dead. US billionaire Melchiorre controls what we read. He is not interested in advocating for Canadians nor in positioning political issues accurately. And we have #ChairmanHarper to think.
News brought to you by a US hedge fund https://thelmaphillips.ca/2025/04/27/news-brought-to-you-by-a-us-hedge-fund/
So I thought I’d point out in the comments section of that article that the Abortion Rights Council of Canada had stated 100% of the Conservatives were anti-choice, but it was “deactivated” for violating their terms and conditions.
I guess you can’t point out Conservative hypocrisy and lies in a Postmedia publication?
@TheGentYYC #PostMedia has to go as well as the man who sold out Canada and allowed #PostMedia to pollute our country. Our #CdnMedia is now 2/3 owned by an American hedge fund, founded by Anthony Melchiorre who has a large foothold in newspapers and tabloids & is known for his close ties to the Republican Party. US billionaire Melchiorre now controls what we read. Postmedia is not interested in advocating for Canadians nor in positioning political issues accurately.
If Carney wins it'd be a good time to finally start talking about routing out America's control over so much of our national news ecosystem. #ElbowsUp is never more applicable than Trump's MAGA allies shaping the news Canada consumes. #PostMedia needs to go. Canadians are ready for this #cdnpoli #Election2025 #elxn2025
Asking fascism to change its ways is fruitless except for the warm feelings and personal sense of well-being for doing it anyway.
Shame on Albertans for being such shamelessly gullible idiots.
@calgaryherald @calgary-herald-opinion-calgaryherald
Dear Canada, we have a dangerous and traitorous seditious threat that we need to bankrupt: #Postmedia
Yes, Carney Daddy (Moscrop) is flat out creepy, but I guess the subtext is that Pierre is the creepy weird scary uncle that you never want to be near.
I'm just pleased that this mentioned that #Postmedia is actively attacking the liberals. That needs to be stated over and over until Canadians bankrupt the yankee "fuck canada" propaganda corp.
Oh, and Rachel is interviewed.
@dmacphee #Postmedia is an American hedge fund founded by Anthony Melchiorre with a large foothold in newspapers and tabloids, known for its close ties to the Republican Party, and it currently owns 2/3 of our #CdnMedia and controls what we read. It is not interested in advocating for Canadians nor in positioning political issues accurately. And we have #ChairmanHarper to thank.
@MEActNOW Hope all US foods will be banned here in Canada #PMMC. Our #CdnMedia which is 2/3 owned by an American hedge fund #Postmedia, founded by Anthony Melchiorre with a large foothold in newspapers and tabloids, is known for its close ties to the Republican Party. It also controls what we read. Will they be reporting the danger this entails? I highly doubt it.
@cbcnews @calgary-cbcnews Our #CdnMedia which is 2/3 owned by an American hedge fund #Postmedia, was founded by Anthony Melchiorre and has a large foothold in newspapers and tabloids. It is known for its close ties to the Republican Party and it controls what we read. US interests do no,want to advocate for Canadians nor position political issues accurately. So of course, #FourthEstateFilth like #RebelNews gets front and centre seats.
@CanadianPolling @338Canada
#Postmedia really had to fudge some numbers today for their top story:
@christyceeck.bsky.social #Postmedia, founded by Anthony Melchiorre with a large foothold in newspapers and tabloids & known for its close ties to the Republican Party, controls what we read. They are not interested in advocating for Canadians nor in positioning political issues accurately. So truth about #PierrePoilievre, meh. Our #CdnMedia is 2/3 owned by #Postmedia, and we have Stephen Harper to thank.
You really think a #Postmedia organ would do that?
/s
#Postmedia, i.e. National Post, etc. LIED TO CANADIANS w/ an op-ed piece containing accusations of plagiarism...
I cannot imagine WHY the American-owned pieces of garbage would allow such lies to be published... can you?
AND, OF COURSE, THE RIGHT-WING KOOL-AID DRINKING PIECES OF GARBAGE ARE STILL SPREADING THE LIES THIS WEEK.
@ddmgmgh @CTVNews The first step. However @CTVNews must now reinstate Rachel Gilmore and her segment if they wish to regain any semblance of trust with their audience.#FourthEstate in Canada is morphing into #FourthEstateFilth. It’s bad enough we have #PostMedia an American hedge fund, controlling 2/3 of our media, if there are no consequences, capitulating to purveyors of slanderous attacks like #PP will continue.
@cheridinovo 2/3 of our Canadian media is owned by #Postmedia, an American hedge fund, founded by Anthony Melchiorre. It has a large foothold in newspapers and tabloids & is known for its close ties to the Republican Party. This is who controls what we read. They are not interested in advocating for Canadians nor in positioning political issues accurately. And we have #ChairmanHarper to thank.
“In my view it is no exaggeration to say that at this juncture, information manipulation (whether foreign or not) poses the single biggest risk to our democracy. It is an existential threat.”

Postmedia has largely replaced local news coverage with paid content, including a long-running campaign for the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, and under new CEO Andrew Macleod ordered its editors to hew even harder to the right politically. We are thus in effect paying foreign-owned media to feed us propaganda
