Happy May Day.
I've you're planning on a Workers' Revolution today - best of luck, and, in England at least, you've got decent weather for it.
Alternatively, you could go and vote, if you can - it's pretty decent weather for a stroll to the polling station too.

That's one part of my agenda for #today - going next-door-but-one to vote Green.

The other job is to clear out the understairs storage area so the fitter can get to the fuse box when she (it may be a he) comes to install our EV charger tomorrow.

We both slept badly last night so I might succumb to yet another afternoon nap.
(My poor sleep may have been caused by the celebratory cheeseburger after being part of the winning team in both of yesterday evening's #petanque competition games)

The English weather is set to cool down over the next few days, so - if you enjoy the warmth - make the most of it.

Rock on Tommies! (and VOTE!)

Thankfully #today looks like being a bit more relaxed.

I need to mow the grass at the bottom of the garden, and I've been asked to play in tonight's #petanque league match.
That's it.

Yesterday we brought home a huge crop of rhubarb and an armful of irises from the #allotment - but it was too hot to spend long there. I am expecting today to be a bit warmer, but at least we'll be indoors - until I head out with my boules by which time it should be a bit cooler.

Keep your collective peckers up, pals.

I'm just home from being at the Pétanque club.
Played two games and I'm shattered!
I was in the winning teams for both games which makes a change.

Being there really lifted my spirits - being in the open air, with good, cheerful company on a pleasant day.
Nothing better!

It feels like the weather will break. Sooner rather than later, but it's only March.

Good morning.
I've woken up far too early.

Today looks like it'll be dry and cool here in the English East Midlands, so I'm intending to go to the Petanque club in Leicester's Western Park - it seems ages since I've thrown my balls around!

Sacha has been making greetings cards with her pressed flowers - and I expect that's going to occupy her some more.

Tomorrow will be a bit odd because although we are going to make an allotment trip, Kasa is coming to visit and has promised to cook our Sunday meal. The allotment trip needs to be coordinated with her arrival.

In other news, I've got a really irritating skin tag developing on my neck. One of the joys of ageing!

Well, have a wonderful weekend wherever you are.

Well the #Petanque club was opened today - so three of us threw a few boules around in the rain, on the muddy terrain, getting frozen fingers! (Am I selling this as a sport?)

It was a fun hour in good company, but now I need to defrost my fingers and get the mud off my coat, trousers and boules.

The consensus amongst the Pétanque club whatsapp group was that it was too cold to play today.
Sacha and I went on the Park & Ride bus into Leicester City centre to collect my new glasses and, perhaps more importantly, to get some fresh air and a change of scenery.
The bus was busy on the way there, but really quiet coming back.
The city was busy, but not what I'd call bustling - we were both struck by how many empty shops there are, and there seem to be more each time we go.
We took a different route out of the Highcross shopping centre and I noticed something I don't remember seeing before - The Coronation Buildings dating to 1904 storyofleicester.info/a-workin
These were the headquarters of the Singer Sewing Machine Company for many years.

It was chilly but not too cold. I would guess it would have been a bit unpleasant standing around the Pétanque piste though.

I'm not on top form just at the moment.
My head is rather messed up.
I think it's just disturbed sleep as the root cause (although that's almost certainly influenced by odd food at strange times).

I was in a foul mood yesterday, so I tried to keep out of the way by reorganising the spare bedroom wardrobes, which led onto the main bedroom wardrobes, which meant I had to go into the loft.

Then the new ATA for the phone arrived (the liars at Amazon said it would have a UK plug - it didn't) - which led on to me trying to set it up, which led onto the discovery that there was some kind of weird call forwarding set up on my mobile number which I think I've sorted, but I need to dig into today.

So - today I'm intending to cycle down to the Petanque club and get rid of some of this tension by throwing steel balls at a little plastic ball!
