aliceif<p><span>in my opinion, any account that disseminates official updates about a project has to forfeit all rights to privacy controls and read access limitation<br><br>this also means that official project announcements MUST NOT be made from a person's account and that web frontend access MUST be possible and RSS/ATOM STRONGLY SHOULD be available. Following from fedi SHOULD also be possible, with absolutely no limitations if the software makes this possible. Defederation in a way that prevents off topic and otherwise unfitting replies from landing on the instance should be possible in Misskey and forks at least from what I understand. There will always be people not following the rules. If you care about privacy, don't post PII, and don't post anything you wouldn't mind falling into the hands of big tech. In the age of LLMs they will do everything they can to circumvent any protection implemented by fedi devs and they have way more resources. UX > Fedi social norms 100% of the time IMO.</p>
