Took some pics of the MechanicalKeyboards.com MK tech warehouse here in AZ yesterday. The yellow Evo80 is a keeb I really liked - if they had it in any of the other 8 or so colors I likely would have bought one.
Surprised so many keebs have solid aluminum cases these days. This one was at least 4 pounds, similar to my Keychron Q3 aka Big Blue. Several others were as well. #Mechanicalkeyboards#mechanicalkeyboard#mechkeys
@dhry I've been out of the hobby for a bit, partly because I got burned on the Rukia R2 GB (fuck off Jaxx), partially because of burnout, and partially because my current living situation sees me only using a laptop without an external keeb.
When I was active, I really liked Dolch and had that on a gen2 Pok3r (that keeb was hot garbage even after reworking the stabs). After using HHKB and RF87 w/55g, I moved back to a standard TKL and used GMK WoB.
I miss having a full size keyboard sometimes, but after using a Lenovo laptop keeb at home and a Dell low profile keeb at work, I find full size keyboards a bit clumsy.
EDIT: I found a pic of the last #mechanicalkeyboard I bought. An AV-3 with lubed and filmed H1 linears. Amazing keyboard, I miss using it.
Hey #mechanicalkeyboard#battlestation peeps, I am really in need of a new desk mat and don't want anything flashy. What's the good stuff out there? Use it mostly to quit the sound of the keyboard on the desktop, so looking at something that will absorb sound well. May just grab a Keebmat for the KB
Well, I finally pulled the trigger. The #HHKB Hybrid Type-S was $40 off today so I went ahead and ordered one. It will be here tomorrow. Excited to see if the hype train is real. I have been growing tired of my Tofu #MechanicalKeyboard I built 6+ years ago. Backspace & \| I'll have to get used to.
I’ve not found a comfortable setup for my #MechanicalKeyboard#SplitKeyboard using tenting yet - I think I’m too used to the high wrist wrest on my reverse inclined #Microsoft4000 (which I do not touch type on, which keeps my hands very mobile), and this Corne with MX key switches is too high - and with six columns too wide when inclined (center up, outer edges down).
Currently trying a low pull out keyboard shelf (never used before as it lacked clearance for the old keyboard) & chair arm rests. Might work - feels better for shoulders and elbow angle having the keyboard that much lower down.

I’m too sleep deprived to tackle the diodes today but I’ve soldered on the key switch sockets. The footprints allow either direct soldering of the key switches or socket mounting. Using sockets allows you to swap to different switches. It also saves a tonne of money when building prototypes
