No me queda otra

Question vite évacuée : "On n'a pas d’alternative".

Merci beaucoup 🙏

@kionite231 from what I hear if you try to use an unofficial APK, then from that point onwards WhatsApp will refuse to run on anything but stock unrooted Android. Not quite a blanket ban like you're looking for, but if you use #LineageOS or something it would render WhatsApp unusable.

Unfortunately my guess is the error message will also be something that blames the user (like "please use a standard Android from an authorised distributor") which would defeat the purpose for you 😕

It feels good in the curent situation to be fully free of any proprietary solution.

#Linux #Debian #FreeBSD on all systems only, own #public #DNS servers on own systems including management.

#Mastodon, #Matrix , #Bridges , #Email , #SOGo #Nextcloud #Owncloud #UnifiedPush #ntfy #HomeAssistant #WebSites mostly done with #Hugo, and far more all self hosted on own systems in the basement or in our housing rack.

Mobiles #GrapheneOS and #LineageOS

Whatever #Trump #Microsoft aso does i dont care

Received replacement for broken #android phone. As usual, after confirming that it is operational, I am tempted to just clean off the worst bloatware and leave it at that.
After uninstalling the google apps that I could, the #xiaomi "cleaner" app helpfully points out it can clean... 3B (bytes!) of residue. And then it promptly shows me some adsense ads for tiktok. Off to the #lineageos website I go... 🙄

@postmarketOS omg!!

I was excited to hear the features, then disappointed to hear it's backed by proprietary libraries from #Gboard, but then excited again to learn this demonstrates the ability to run stuff from #LineageOS and its forks/ancestors without having to run a full-blown emulator! And not a normal app but a integrated subsystem no less 😮

If #postmarketOS were human, this would be a true #cyborg (in a good way) :postmarketos:

Tell Unihertz: Support the Jelly Max or let Lineage do it!

lemm.eeTell Unihertz: Support the Jelly Max or let Lineage do it! - lemm.eecross-posted from: https://lemm.ee/post/60123252 [https://lemm.ee/post/60123252] >Unihertz is one of the only phone manufacturers still making small phones. The Jelly Max is the only compact 5G Android phone on the market. > > BUT… Unihertz has a terrible track record when it comes to supporting their phones. Most OEMs issue Android and security updates for years. Unihertz phones often get less than 1 year of software/firmware support, including security updates. In a recent email to me, Unihertz confirmed, verbatim, “We don’t update our phones very often. And we’re not sure of the exact frequency of updates.” > > This is crazy, and it doesn’t have to be this way. Chris Allegretta has argued [https://www.asty.org/unihertz-its-not-too-late-to-save-the-jelly-max/] that Unihertz could allow the Lineage project to take over the Jelly Max and ensure that the phone is supported for years to come, simply by sending them some restore zips and 5 pre-prod units. That’s it! > > Tell Unihertz: Either support the Jelly Star, or help the Lineage team take it over. > > Unihertz also told me, “we do collect user feedback and forward it to our technical department. They will evaluate the feedback and implement updates if necessary.” So let’s give 'em some feedback! > > Their email is: > > # service@unihertz.com [service@unihertz.com] >

support for darker app icon background

lemmy.ml/post/27843355

lemmy.mlsupport for darker app icon background - Lemmy[https://lemmy.ml/api/v3/image_proxy?url=https%3A%2F%2Fobzorje.kompot.si%2Fapps%2Ffiles_sharing%2Fpublicpreview%2Fm7wX7xw7ybgHDyR%3Ffile%3D%252F%26fileId%3D9275787%26x%3D1920%26y%3D1080%26a%3Dtrue%26etag%3Dc8736e55e40cf4ccb90eb316efa2423a] The left side of the image above shows how icons currently look in LineageOS even when the dark theme is enabled in the phone settings. At least when using the default launcher, Trebuchet (com.android.launcher3). Right side is how I imagine that icons should look like with dark theme enabled. Ideally, this change should take affect across whole system. So on home screen, in the app drawer and in all other parts of the UI where app icons get displayed. My two questions for you: 1. Any ideas or suggestions for what options or workarounds could be used to achieve this right now? * Yes, launcher with support for custom icons could mitigate part of this issue. * Themed Icons affects just home screen and changes whole icons instead of just background. 2. What would be the development / contribution process for introducing this functionality into LineageOS by default? * LineageOS issue tracker prohibits submission of feature requests. Which part of the internet would then be most appropriate for discussion about how to make this happen? * Is this even within a scope of LineageOS? Should this feature be implemented within AOSP in order to get introduced into LOS?
