I took this photo while on a guided tour of the Wabasha Street Caves in St. Paul, which were a 1930s Prohibition era gangster hangout. The tour guide was briefly here talking about the caves behind him. They were filled with the wreckage of a flood. I can't figure out where that shadow above him is coming from. These caves are supposedly haunted due to a gangster shootout that happened there.

In a comment on a recent edition of Ghost's AP newsletter, you asked how you get lively fediverse discussions happening in the comments of your #Ghost newsletter.

One answer is, the same way you get them happening on a Mastodon account. You get people to follow @index (for now), so they see your pieces as posts in their fediverse feeds. Also add relevant hashtags to your pieces on Ghost, so they come up in tag searches on servers where there's someone following you.

#TIL that the source code for adding ActivityPub support to a Ghost instance is available for experimentation by community-hosters. With the caveat that;

"This repository is being actively developed and is currently in early alpha - expect many breaking changes. It is not suitable for production use."

April is National Poetry Month in the US and – seeing as it might be the last one – I’m celebrating by sharing recently-released recordings of poems from my collection Noisesome Ghosts made by Graham Farram.

[058] “A Ghost of 50 Berkeley Square, London” (n.d.)

Graham’s reading:

Image: 50 Berkeley Square today. This famous haunting repeatedly belies the claim that living persons cannot be physically harmed by anomalous forces.

Very exciting news about #Ghost, the blogging software I use for my website, beta testing their new social web integration! Activating it enables direct interaction with blogs on #Wordpress and soon #Tumblr, #Mastodon and the whole #Fediverse, as well as #BlueSky and #Threads according to their changelog:

As a self-hosting user I'll have to wait for a stable release but I am thrilled!

Congrats to @johnonolan and the team at Ghost, which today announced a public beta for users to connect their publications to the fediverse. If you're in their beta, you'll be able to find, follow and interact with people and publications on platforms including Ghost, WordPress, Threads, Mastodon, BlueSky, Flipboard and more. Get details in the blogpost here. If you want to know more about Ghost's approach to decentralization and the open social web, check out John's DotSocial conversation with @mike at the second link.
