Hello, some time ago, we started noticing websites that take advantage of our open source font licenses to make profit through ads. More recently, our next-to-be-published author Xiaoyuan Gao (NotYourTypeFoudry) had a problem with a font-distributing website called Fontesk. [1/2]
Fontesk published one of their fonts, taken from a git repository, as a release and then refused to take it down, blocking Xiaoyuan Gao in the process. Xiaoyuan explained this situation in a recent post. We would like to support her by denouncing this kind of behavior and calling for a greater accountability of open-source font distributors.
