Ted Harding: But you can also do these with 'any' and 'all', e.g. any(v==TRUE).
Thomas Lumley: or any( (v==TRUE)==TRUE), or any( ((v==TRUE)==TRUE)==TRUE)... Or, perhaps, any(v). Lewis Carroll wrote a nice piece on this theme.
