@pluralistic Fantastic analysis Cory, as always
A Swiss article in which Christophe Germann argues for ending the enforcement of US intellectual property law. It's the first time I've read this perspective in a mainstream news outlet, rather than from @pluralistic

@macst @pluralistic #openai is explicitly demanding revocation of copyright for #AI its already stained by theft. Wipe it, destroy the base of USA oligarchy in one swoop
@macst @pluralistic Oh, that's a interesting strategy.
#import #TarriffWar
@twilwel @apolaine @macst @pluralistic @pluralistic came with the same recommendation. #47 led by #putin and the #paypalMob has unilateraly terminated the #usa trade agreements. In which we traded free access to the USA market for respecting the licenses charged by the #TechGiants. We should build our own app stores, search engines, even software, cloud/advertising platforms and stop paying the destructive biljonairs. https://pluralistic.net/2025/01/15/beauty-eh/
@macst @pluralistic derStandard also reported that the EU commission is even considering measures to invalidate US patents.
This is, however, treated as a last-resort option, that also might be very hard to realize, given that it would need an unanimous vote and Hungary is unlikely to agree.
