I especially recommend "The Utopia of Rules: On Technology, Stupidity, and the Secret Joys of Bureaucracy".
And here's my own rambling on the subject: https://ploum.net/despair-and-hope-from-the-stupidity-of-academic-bureaucracy-to-the-poetry-of-bitcoin/
In http://paulgraham.com/conformism.html, @firstname.lastname@example.org says there are less independant thinkers in universities without offering an explanation.
He must read more @email@example.com. It would have been clear that stupid rules are how conformists are taking over the world.
If you suffer from graphical glitches in some of your applications (like a video player or, as reported, in the Antidote spelling corrector), have a look at https://regolith-linux.org/docs/customize/compositors/
Changing your compositor is easy and may make your life better.

Great piece by @Lawik@twitter.com. https://underjord.io/five-buck-fatigue.html
I feel the same problem. Worst. I know and I've tested the solution: @Flattr@twitter.com . This was what the world needed.
Unfortunately, it was too early. Or the world was not ready.

Je ne lis pas la presse mais je suis le blog de @firstname.lastname@example.org. Qui me donne un aperçu suffisant de cette auge naoséabonde... http://getpocket.com/@zeploum/share/4969386
I'm already spied and disturbed enough. The reason I'm paying is to be left alone.
I'm paying you so you don't even try to think what could be interesting for me. It's not. Even if it was, I'm paying to be left alone. Else, I would use any free alternative.
They are working *against* their own users because it's the norm in the industry.
There's a huge space for service providers who would swear to not bother you with anything, to never subscribe you to any mailing list.
Even @email@example.com sent a SPAM for their anniversary.
Even paying is not enough. Services are all trying to get your attention and to invade your privacy. They are *all* trying to get you and, what is shockingly stupid, they don't even know why (remember I'm *already* paying).
They don't realise how creepy it is!
Aujourd'hui sur Blog à part – Tonton Alias raconte (mal) le prog
Il y a quelques semaines, des lecteurs m’ont demandé de faire un article expliquant les différentes dénominations de prog. Alors oui, mais à ma sauce.
Eventually came accross a text-expander which is:
3. Easy to configure (a simple text file)
4. Working perfectly well.
Thanks @firstname.lastname@example.org !
I believe in free software, in open source and in solidarity over charity, however, the people giving you these choices and the ability to abstain from services run by for-profit, commercial, capitalistic conglomerates need to make a living too ..
Give it a thought and use your privilege to contribute as well, if you can afford it 👍
It's not because it's open source and because it has "for good" in the name that it's good. In fact, the later point should tell you that you are trying to convince yourself.
It's spam. Plain spam."spam for good" ?
