I am sad that in 2020 I still don't have a satisfactory workflow for LaTeX-formatted mathematics in vector graphics. I use an old version of OS X Adobe Illustrator to edit both PDF and SVG (and I need to work with both formats), but Illustrator doesn't handle equations natively and the old plug-ins that I used to use no longer work.

What are other people using? IPE? TikZ? Plugins or special font setups that can translate the math into something Illustrator can handle? Avoiding the problem?

@11011110 Inkscape is great for that, its "LaTeX with PStricks macros" export fits the bill very well for me
