I'm so tired of @flickr still not being able to deal with non ASCII characters during photo uploads!
When I write this in Greek:
Περιφερειακή ενότητα Χανίων
Flickr extracts this from the image metadata:
ΠεÏιÏεÏειακή ενÏÏηÏα ΧανίÏν
They can't even manage to deal with accented latin letters…
@nhoizey interestingly, i've successfully uploaded photos with unicode keywords correctly to flickr for ages. sometimes, it shows the garbage for a split second, before then correctly changing to utf-8 and displaying them correctly in the upload page. admittedly, not tried with greek
@nhoizey for instance, see the tags on this https://www.flickr.com/photos/redux/53568249242/in/dateposted/ ... didn't have to edit them after upload. could it be your jpgs somehow aren't encoding the keywords correctly?
@patrick_h_lauke tags come from Lightroom Classic, I hope they are encoded correctly.
At least, my Node script extracting them for my Eleventy site has no issue: https://nicolas-hoizey.photo/galleries/travels/europe/greece/crete/the-platanos-agricultural-lowlands/
@patrick_h_lauke also, this is not an issue with the browser, I tried with both Firefox and Chrome.
