@thudfactor @mia I've been using Firefox and text zoom for years, I really prefer it over global page zoom.

And even text sized in pixels is increased, as you can see on this screenshot.

I still prefer using (r)em for layout widths on my sites, but I will not try to convince you. It's nice that we can have a choice, if both are accessible.

A downside of pixel sized layout widths is for thin columns of text where increased font size may lead to many hyphenation, and more difficulty to read.
