Can someone use my username, but register it from another instance? The model is username@instance.name, but ideally the "username" part should be unique? Otherwise someone could register username@instance2.name and appear identical...

What happens if my instance goes down for some reason? Do I disappear? Can I log in from another one?

I am seeing toots from 2 hours ago, appearing on top of the #Federated timeline. Is this normal? Or a feature (bumping old toots)?

So if I'm on the mamt.fr instance, I cannot log in from any other instance? But the Federated timeline displays toots from ALL instances?

Most of the toots in my Federated Timeline are in French. Is this because I logged in using a .fr instance? Isn't Federated supposed to be comprehensive and not local?
