I hope that instead of "Code of Conducts" where a few decide of rules and become de facto tribunals and enforcement bodies sanctioning people, we find clever ways to tag people who piss many other people off, share that info and decide (or not) to make them disappear from our timelines....

@jz How would you stop a system like that from being abused?

@DexteriousJones

By being smart about it, and working it cross-borders, in a truly libre/open way, to make it work. It's critical as we have to have other ways than witch hunts, even with people we hate and propagating ideas we despise, to offer as a model for society.

Also not asking ourselves about how to fix problems before they arise (ie. trying before imagining it may fail!)

@jz Imagining the problems ahead of time is a good way to ensure that you architect a solution such that either the problems can't arise or that solutions are baked-in. You have to look at how a system is potentially going to be abused so that you can stop it from happening in the first place. That's not shooting it down, that's just doing proper initial assessment.

Well I think for one that if everyone has, say a warning surrounding a "toot" from someone saying "X persons, including Y that *you know* think this person is an ass/this toot is shit, so you may not want to see that", we include a notion of trust (the Y ppl) that is hard to abuse...
