hmm ... actually ... 0.5 ...

6dof tracking is to be added I guess putting some lightroom tracker on it (partially OSH ) or tracking with a led bulb à la psmoveservice ... ?

(I'm so desperate of the level of finished product support for / in gnu-linux/floss, while all use it to start with... sorry for bitching ;) )

@Olm_e Oh yes. That one. Anyone manufacturing and shipping yet? @gschalli

@judeswae
not that I know of ... would probably take >~1year to have it commercially... maybe some startup will do it ?

plus the glass manufacturing is not so easy (the way they present it... )
if I had time/funding I would use this as a base and hack a mod with thermoformed mirrors to test the idea with opensource tech...

@gschalli

@Olm_e Yeah, that's the thing. Open sourcing hardware that is so technically complicated to produce is a nice gesture, but I've yet to see this being a working business / development model. @gschalli

@judeswae I think they have just not the intend to have a whole new product to develop and ship and hope to get more share in the landscape by giving their inhouse ideas to the willingfull players so they integrate their handtracking tech.
Also I suspect that the Holo has a too narrow angle view for the new leapmotion tracker to be usefull so maybe it's a push in the back for M$ to enhace their headset ? (or get a chinese firm to do it first)
who knows... it's a neat idea still...
