Thank you for a very interesting article. From what I'm reading *nothing* has changed in the industry since the early 00s (pre-Google maps) when I was a satellite imagery user. I would have thought that with the abundance of map providers (Google, here, Microsoft, ESRI, MapBox and so on) the market would have become more commoditised by now.

I guess many users are happy enough with the visible spectrum, sometime in the past offerings from the above sources, but what about the rest?
