I'll be very glad if it was just a random kid. I had been fretting for days it was an organized, state-backed group that was just burning bridges and doing last minute monetization.
I mean, that still might be true. BUT.

Is presumption of innocence not a thing in the #US? Where I live, saying that a suspect *committed* the crime before he has been judged is itself a crime (and could result in the person being let scot free if it's considered that his right to a fair trial has been irreversibly compromised).
Same reason why suspects are never named in the press.
